Time for Writing

It has come to my attention that if I ever want to get any writing done, I need to do it in the morning. Before laundry, vaccuming, dusting...before everything, or I just won't do it.
My goal this year is to complete one rough draft and one submissible book.
Needless to say, my house is looking less than pristine.

What are your goals this year? Have you had to reavaluate how you're prioritizing?

Sounds like a good plan. I'm like this with exercise. If I don't do it in the morning, it doesn't usually happen.

I have been cutting extras out of my schedule, and working on being more disciplined about hopping on FB, etc. so I can get more writing done.

I wish I could do it in the morning, but alas, my full-time job calls my name. :( But my goal is to have my book revised and polished by ACFW in September.

Good luck with your goals!

I'm the opposite - a night writer! I know you can do it :) Even if the dishes take a little longer to get washed and the dusting a little longer to get done! GOOD LUCK!

I'm a morning person. I try to get everything that's pressing out of the way in the morning.

Yes, I am prioritizing my life and there will be some changes.

I hope you get a lot of writing done this way.

My most creative and productive time is late evening after everyone has gone to bed, including my internal critic, which is really frustrating because I devote hours to writing throughout the day that aren't as productive as they should be. I have 3 books and 2 proposals due within the next 12 months, so definitely prioritizing. 1) Write 2) Write 3) Write...not sure where procrastinating to comment on your blog fits in. :) But loving your sunny Florida weather, even on not so sunny days like today!

I have no trouble putting off dusting and cleaning. LOL!

I have to write at night and weekends, since I work FT, but my best ideas come in the shower at night.

My goals are to find a home for my newest book and not go crazy.

Kudos on your decision to make your writing a priority, Jessie. Sometimes it means cutting out other good things, but there are rewards. Just ask your readers. =)

I've learned that I really can't write until I read. Even if what I'm writing isn't directly related to what I'm reading, the reading still gets my mind going and allows my thoughts to flow better. So, if I read in the morning, that is when I write best. But, if I read in the afternoon, I'll likely be writing that night.

Helps that I don't have any little kids at home anymore :). But, I also miss them.

Good luck on your writing goals.

Morning works best for me too. That's when my energy is at its highest too.

My goals this year: I really need to get some laundry, vaccuuming, and dusting done!! I'm a very bad girl. I tend to put writing first and forget about other things. Yikes.
