Jumping on the Bandwagon
I think I'll be taking a blog break too. My dad and brother, who I haven't seen in over two years, might be coming to my house soon so I'm really excited!
I'll probably still be visiting blogs on my free time. I am an addict, after all. *wink*
What family did you see this year? Was it stressful or fun? Are you ready to go back to the comfortable insanity of normal life?

Most of my family is here in Texas with me, so I am fortunate to be close to them all.
Have a Happy New Year!
Have fun with your family, Jessica!!
We saw our daughter and her kids at Thanksgiving, and our son couldn't get enough days off work to make the 550 mile trip here, so we were just us two for Christmas. I thought it'd be sad and lonely, but we had a fun, worshipful day.
Karen, I have sisters too. They're great! I'm glad you got to see yours. :-)
Tamika, it's really nice that you're close to your family! I wish I was geographically closer to mine. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Katie, that stinks!! Poor guy. :-( How's he feeling now? I hope you or Brogan don't get it.
Jeanette, how nice that you two had the day to yourselves and enjoyed it! What a blessing. :-)
I think much of it stems from the fact my younger sis-in-law had a wedding today--two days after Christmas and only planned in six weeks. So the last month has been a neverending ball o'stress. Really hoping her future hubby helps her break out of that 19-year-old lack of maturity she has. Then again, he's sometimes at that same level being only a few months older than she is...
Anyway, I don't think I've ever been more grateful for the holidays to end. I hate saying that but this year it was true.
It was SO refreshing not to feel like I needed to post something today, ha!
Um, we went to my in-laws in NC for Christmas. It was busy, busy, but we enjoyed it. I have decided that taking Christmas somewhere else is VERY difficult though... it will be a while before we try it again:-)
My family just got back from the Chicago area last night. I ended up getting sick on Christmas Day and spent the weekend in downtown Chicago feeling awful. Definitely not the way I planned to spend my holiday, but I'm glad to be home now! :-)
So... it's a toss up. Days spent in my pj's are better than going to work...
We returned yesterday evening after spending Christmas weekend with friends up north. I'm thankful we didn't hit a lot of traffic. My friends' entire family was in town, which meant lots of kiddie hugs and kisses.
Two and a half days away from the computer felt strange, but I needed it. :)
Enjoy the time with your family.
This year My cousin (soldier) and her mom came up to see me after 9 years. So my home was filled with my daughters, my mother, my sister, my cousin, my aunt, and other family friends. It was wonderful.
Thanks for asking and thanks for sharing. Peace.

I'm just now dipping my toes into normalcy, or trying to get the footing set back in place is more like it. Finding it difficult...
Happy New Year. :0)
I had my aunt(mom's sis) and her whole family come from Arizona and we had an amazing time! We saw 'the nutcracker', went to see 'Avatar', shopped, and took a trip to San Antonio together. I really love them, and 2 of her kiddos are girls near my age-so we've always been close. THey feel like sisters more than cousins-and one is actually very similar to me-so it's fun to have her over-we tend to have the same reactions to things and make the same faces-it's too funny to watch. I miss them already-wish they lived here.
I'm ready to go back to life, but I don't want to take down the lights and tree. I hate it when people leave lights up cuz they're lazy, but it makes me sad to take ours down-they always make me smile. I wish people put up lights for each holiday-pink ones for Valentine's day, pastels for Easter and so on. :)
Loved your post, then reading about your family on another post.
God gives us the perfect analogy through His brideship between Christ and the church. Sigh.
Family over the holidays? We spent a glorious two days with our newlywed daughter and two granddogs. We rejoiced in such passion and love as displayed by the young-uns!!

Susan and Terri, yes, I'm here and I'll be back Monday. :-)
My family actually left last week but I've took the break for a longer time. :-)
